Now IN SESSION AT LITCHFIELD, WITHIN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF LITCHFIELD :
The Petition of Thomas Baker
of muchester ct
in said County, humbly showeth, that he is a foreigner, a subject of

; that he came to the United States, in the year 1853 and
was then of the age of

years, and that he is now of the age of
21
years,
that he desires to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever, all allegiance and fidelity to
every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to

of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject ; that he has resided
within
the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut on year at least, and that during said five
years, he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the
United States, and well disposed to the good order and welfare of the same.
And Praying this Court, upon finding the facts hereinbefore alleged to be true, to admit him to become
a Citizen of the United States, agreeably to the provisions of the Acts of Congress in such case made
and
provided.
And your Petitioner, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
