Sunfard Indiver the it Remembered, That on the / day of much in the of Ner/hh year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and /ifty seem michael mmmphy in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said murphy then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before the bluh of the Country in for Duice Camily and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Licetipiar! ss. the it Bemembered, That on the 14th day molod of Aumber A. D. 1854 before the bies bluh of the County Court, within and for said County, the a having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- L.S. sonally appeared, michael murphy of An/th in said County, who was born in Inlund aged about Thirty years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Nieteria green of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, Helmay 03 securs Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. To level bes Hemay B Grans Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said murphy has resided within the United States five years at least, la nidziw is tad and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the e United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. bos And the said murphy having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Nictina Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
