Butter fudge\nthe of our it Remembertà, Lord one thousand That eight on the hundred eightery and fifty the day of Apoil Waters in\nthe\nyear\nof Litchfield\nin said Courty of Kitchfield, being an alien and a free white person,\nappeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and\na and and to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said\nmade by him before the blerk of said\nJames Clerk Seal,) maters applied bourd Certificate of the declaration of\nthen exhibited to the Court a intention\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \"An Actto\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject.\"\nApproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\nSTATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nCOUNTY OF Litchfield\nss.\nthe it Remembered, That on the fourth\nday\nof April\nA. D. 1857, before the\nblerk of the Superior Court, within and and for said County,\nhaving Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk a Seal, per-\nL. S.\nsonally appeared, games maters\nof County, Litchfield who was born in Donegal bo. Ireland in said\naged about 28 years, and on oath did declare that\nit was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE\nUNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-\ntate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria\nQueen\nof the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-\nof, I, Fredenick D. Beeman\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nhand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid.\nJredenick D. Beeman Hosk\nwithin\nAnd it the appearing United to States the satisfaction five years at of least, the Court, that said famies maters has\nresided\nand in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years\nhe has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the\nUnited States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nAnd\nthe said famics haters\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce\nand abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereiguty Whatever,\nand\nparticularly to Victoria Queen\nof the United Kingdom of\nGreat Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court,\nthat said games Maters\nbe, and he was accordingly admitted\nto become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES."
