46 At a Steft to Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 21. Tuesday of Sept in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and PRESENT-HON fifty nine Loven P. Wulde Judge the it Rememberrd, That on the 28th fifty nure John meBllack day of September in, the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and of Hashington in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said this a made M by him before Black the blek then exhibited to of the Court such a Certificate Court of the declaration of again intention the march Ferm thereof 1857 and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled 'An Actto establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF ss. the it ch That on the livesty first 185 day bleik of may I the Sigh Court, within A. and D. for said 7, before County, the having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally L. S. appeared, John ll Black of County, Washington who born in diego Co in said that was deseland aged about 25 years, and on oath did declare it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, the deik Diseerous Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. livite Clerk. And to it the appearing United States the satisfaction five years of least, the Court, that said Jemo ll ovil Black has nill resided within at and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. How And the said John Black having oath, declared on that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Actoria Green of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that the taid John ll Black be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
