198 At a Supinior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 4" Tuesday of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sifty PRESENT-HON. three, Alisha Correnter judge the it Rememberrà, That on the eight hundred and sixty threw. michael Ispain 10' day of February in the of Harvinton year of our Lord one thousand in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and and Seal) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said michael a Clerk Spairy then exhibited of the declaration intention to the Court a Certificate of made by him before the blerk of the superior bourt for sand County. and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actito establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Sitchfild ss. the it Remembergò, That on the 13" day of april A. D. 1859, before the Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally L. S. appeared, michael Spain of Tornington in said County, who was born in Tipperary County Ireland aged about 28 38 years; and on oath did declare that it bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce was forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria been of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, Jinederick DBeeman Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. the Inserick D Beeman Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said michael Spain has resided within the United States five years at least, all and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Hour And the said Michael spain having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, of particularly to Victoria bein of the United Kingdom Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that michael spain be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
