At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of
Connecticut, on the

the it Rememberrd, That on

year of our Lord one thousand eight their Haven
of Auggaunte
County of being an alien and a free white person,
appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and
a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said
William Butcher
then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention
made by him before the blerk of the Superior bourt for Ditchfuld County
and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Aet to
establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on, that subject."

aged about forty
years, and on oath did declare that
it was bond fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE
UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-
tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to
Vectoria Sucent
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-
of, I, FredR Deseman
Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my
hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid.

And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said William Butcher has
resided
within the United States five years at least,
and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years
he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the
United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
And the
said William Butcher
having declared on oath, that he would support
the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renonnce
and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and
particularly to
Vicluria been
of the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Ireland, of whom the was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court,
that
William Butcher
be, and he was accordingly admitted
to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
