222 At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 1s Tuesday of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty four, han PRESENT-HON. Elisha Corpenter judge the it That on the 30" day of November , in the of our Lorg one of year Norfolk thousand eight hundred in and sixty of Ly four Michael an alien and a free Moural white said County being person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said Morchael Meara- then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before the blerk of the lounty Countfor said County and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, perfollows: the acle passed us addition there tc as follows, STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Sitelfield } ss. the it Requembered, That on the 27 day of A. D. 1855, before the beunty Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- L.S. sonally appeared, Michael Moura of Norfolk Ircland in said County, who was born in aged about 36 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, Henry B. graves day and aforesaid. Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the year Henry B. graves Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Morchael Mana has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said MichaelMaan having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity, to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Moura Been of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that Michael Mara be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
