And the said Edward him quanity- before then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by thu superior Courtfor and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actto establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Sitchfuld } ss. the it That on the 20 of Delober - 19/6/19 day Superior A. D. 1800 before the Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- L.S. sonally appeared, Edward gamily of County, Salisburg who was bord in Rosconnon. toscommon lod. in said Irelanofic aged about 50 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Dear of the Kingdong of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and Mris year aforesaid. Ramsom Clerk. within the United States five years at least, And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Edward Gumity has resided and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. CONSTITUTION And the said Edward OF THE gamily. ONITED having declared on oath, that he would support the STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiange and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereiguty whatever, and particularly to Victoria queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
