266 At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the . State of Connecticut, on the 4 25 kusday of strank Juy in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sifty nine luto PRESENT-HON. Miles 7. Grouger Julley the it Remembered, That on the 23th day of March the year of our Lord eight one thousand hundred and sufty nine William Kennang h of Tommy ten in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said William Kereough then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before (d) obmin the city Count of writerbey caunt and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actto establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows : STATE OF CONNECTICUT, GOUNT OF Waterbay City } ss. the it Remembered, That on the 23 day of March A. D. before the Che Kofth city City Court, within and for said Country, 11 having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally appeared, L. S. William Kennaugh of Tourngton Sulfified County in said County, who was born in Iuland aged about 37 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to nutria Zeam of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, hey. ETerry Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. bige sill 10 lage bni Geo. E.Terry Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said William Kannaugh has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. How bes , botiol And the said Hilliam Kamangh having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to vitnen Zeen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
