And the said Matther Hallvan then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention madeiby him before Ges ll woodwiff Ant cluk of the abem behper count for Lettenpers county and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actito establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." to Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows COUNTY OF Letenful } STATE OF CONNECTICUT, ss. the it Rememberrd, That on the 23 day of mach to A. D. 1867, before the Superior Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally appeared, wathew Hallraw L.S. of manchetes deeland in said County, who was born in aged about 43 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreigu Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to bun bectour Zevin of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject.
