And the said\nthen exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention\nmade by him before the Hufern leanted the beauty of Painfuln\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \"An Act to\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject.\"\nto\nApproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\nbevompA\nSTATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nCOUNTY OF Hairfuld\n}\nss.\nthe it Remembered, That on the\n15\"\nday\nof Manla\nA. D. 185 before the\nhaving Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per-\nSuperior\nCourt, within and for said County,\nL.S.\nsonally appeared, thomas Butter\nof bunaan in Sitchficle\nin said\nCounty, who was born in Inland\naged about 2.) lage years, and on oath did declare that\nit was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE\nUNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-\ntate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to\nVictoria Deven\nof the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. J.Blak\nhand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. bins all to losd bm ,bmod\nBelieva\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nHb.Blake\nClerk.\nAnd it to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Thor us Butted has\nappearing\nresided\nwithin the United States five years at least,\nJegol 18 svil batin0 aidtiw\nand in the State of Connectieut one year at least, and that during said five years\nhe has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the\nUnited States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, ib\nbne\nbatio\n1\nAnd the said Thomas Butter\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce\nand abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever,\nand\nparticularly to Puteria Devin\nof the United Kingdom of\nGreat Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
