327 At Superved Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 41 Tuesday of gunnay in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and & seventy PRESENT- Hon. gannes Phelps Judge the it Remembertò, That on the 22" day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Edmund Dillan of North banaan in said of Litekfield, being alien and free white person, an a appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of (Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a eitizen of the United States. And the said Edmund Dillan then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before the Superior Courteful sbom and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF ; No ss. 10 the it That on the 6" day of February A. D. 1868 before the ma Superior Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- L. S. sonally appeared, Edmund Dillar of No folk in said aged County, about who was 53 born in Kerry years, County and on oath did Irland declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Pictoral Deven of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, William Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. mill 3n han Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Edmund Dillan has resided within the United States five years at least, au avil pidaiw and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Edmund Dillan having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria genew of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. i It was therefore considered by the Court, that Edmind Dillan be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
