At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State 335 225 of Connecticut, on hundred and sevenly the 4" Tuesday of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight PRESENT-HON. games Phills judge the it Remembered, That on the 22 year of, Qur Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy William Burk day of March. in the of in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and in open Court, a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said William Burke then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before this bourt and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actto establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Sitchffill } ss. the it Remembered, That on the 30" day of January A. D. 185 0, before the nol Superior Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk, and a Seal, per- L.S. sonally appeared, William Burk M. of Jornngton County, who aged about was 32 born in happenangles 1.1 and on oath did declare that Ireland years, it was bona fide his intention to becomé a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prinee, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Dueen of the of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, Kingdom Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforgsaid, juni) ibima to bne ,bnail Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Aptn Burke has resided within the United States five years at least, may svil ad) nidziw sobab and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said William Burke having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Quien of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that Burk be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES. odi lo
