364 Al Court holden at Litrififield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 4" one, Tuesday of January in the year of our Lord one thousand but eight hundred and sevenly PRESENT-HON Drightestonic yudge 23° year of ouy Lord one thousand That eight on hundred the and seventy day one, Thomas Pendergast in the it of filmury ma appeared of Salisbury in said County of Litotifield, being an alien and a free white person, in open fourt, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said Thomas Pendergat then Court Certificate of the declaration of intention exhibited to the a made by him before the superiorlount for said County, and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actto establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: COUNTY OF Selecticed OF STATE CONNECTIGUI, } ss. 214 its the it Remembered, That on the A. D. before the 1968 day of Superior September Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally L. S. appeared, Thomas Andergast of who born me Mahon leo. Ireland in said County, was Salisbay aged about 22 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Queen of the subject. In Testimony Where- Unit Klogdon of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he Clerk is now of a of, I, said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day with lasa bas And and year aforesaid, Ransom Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Thomas Andergast has resided within the United States five years at least, azd and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and elldisposed to the good order and happiness of the same. llaw bas the said thomas Pendergast having declared on oath, support that he would the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and to any State or Sovereignty whatever, and of particularly to) of the United Kingdom Great Britz irland of whom he before a subject.
