Seymour, Jung the it Remembered, That on the 20 day of March in the year of our of Winchester Lord one thousand eight hundred and fearnity One Engene Horard in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before paid Inperior bourt. and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actto establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF direlfied } ss. the it That on the 24th day of saach A. D. 186 before the nob Superior Court, County, within and for said having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally appeared, L.S. Engeme Horard of Winchistic in said Pot County, who was born in Ireland aged about 5 years, and on oath did declare that m it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom 01 Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, you L Ranson Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. lo love mm L. Ransom Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Horrard of resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the Institution United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Eugene Horard having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that Eugen Herard be, and he was accordingly admitted to become/a Citizen of the UNITED STATES. someoned of
