    "ocrText": "At a Superior Cougt, holden at Litchfeld, in and for the County of Litchfield, the State of\n435\nin\nConnecticut, of the\nzp\nTuesday of September\nin\nthe\nyear\nof\nour\nLord\none\nthousand\neight\nhundred and serenty PRESENT- Hon. two Mails J granger yudge.\nthe it Remembered, That on\nthe\nn of October\nof year Lord One eight hundred in said and seventy of Litehfeld, two William an and a\nauchland\nan the\nCounty being alien free white person,\nappeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and\na Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said\nMillam Duckland\nthen exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention\nmade by him before,\nthe Superior loust for aidlounty\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled *An Actio\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject.\"\nApproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\nSTATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nCOUNTY OF Setebfield ss.\nvab\nthe it Remembered, That on the\nsouted\nclinthifthe liaving of Supenion Common april Law\nA.1. the\n21/4 18701 H before day\nbinn ndt ban\nCourt, within and for said County,\nasq dave II\njurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per-\nL.S.\nsonally\nappeared, William auckland\nof County, Gasher who was\nindi\naged about\nEngland\nin said\nborn in\n311\nyears, and on oath did declare that\nit was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE\nUNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-\ntate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to\nVictoria Duen\nof In Testimony Where-\nof,\nthe I, United Kjngdoma of Ransom Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he Clerk is now of said a subject. Court,\nhave hereunto set my\nhand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and aforesaid.\nyear Ransom bins suli 10 lase Clerk. bea\nAnd it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said, has resided\nwithin the United States five years at least,\nJasal 18 sury svil adi midriw\nevil\nbine\nsuhub\nand in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years\nhe has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the\nUnited States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nhog\nAnd the said, William auckland\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce\nand abjure all allegiance aud fidelity to any forgign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and\nparticularly to\nOldona Thun\nof the United Kingdom of\nGreat subject.
