    "ocrText": "At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of\n23\nConnecticut, on the\nD\nhundred and fifty Six\nTuesday of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight\nbest\nPRESENT-HON. John I Pack judge\nthe it Remembered, That on the 23\nyear\nof our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Sing games Kent\nday of September\nin the\nof Jouingtow\nin said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person,\nappeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and\na Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said\nhunt\nthen exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention\nmade by him before the Clerk of the Country Court for oaid County\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \"An Actito\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the aets heretofore passed on that subject.\"\nApproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\nSTATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nCOUNTY OF Sitchfield\nss.\nthe it Remembered, That on the 14th\nday\nof August\nA. D. 1854, before the\nCleck of the County Court, within and for said County,\nhaving Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per-\nL. S.\nsonally appeared,\ngames Kent\nof Tourington\nin said\nCounty,\nwho was born in bank bo Ireland\naged about 45\nyears, and on oath did declare that\nit was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE\nUNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-\ntate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Mectoria\nguen\nof the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-\nof, I, Frunk D Bunnan\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nhand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid.\nvill\n16\nbas\nJatual\nFredeick l. Beeman\nClerk.\nAnd it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Kent has résided\nwithin the United States five years at least,\nwil batioul sils\navil\nbins and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years\nhei has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the\nUnited States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\n1100\nAnd the said\nKent\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce\nand abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and\nparticularly to victoria Queen\nof the United Kingdom of\nGreat Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court,\nthat said games Kent\nbe, and he was accordingly admitted\nto become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES."
