of Harrow Silchfield in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person,
appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and
Thomas Commell
a Glerk and Seak) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said
then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention
made by him before
the Superior bount for said learnity,
and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actto
establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject."
Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows

UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-
tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to

the United Kingdum of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-
Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my
hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid.

And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that
said Shomas Commell has
resided
within the United States five years at least,
and in the State of Connectient one year at least, and that during said five years
he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the
United States, and vellatisposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
And the said Thomas Comell
having declared on oath, that he would support
the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce
and abjure all and fidelity ,to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and
particularly to
Quien
of the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Preland, of wham he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court,
that
Thomas bomell
be, and he was accordingly admitted
to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
