And the said Cedirand Wanter then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before the City count of walestary leom sbum and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actto establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: la STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNT City OF Wintory } ss. the it Remembered, That on the 24th of march day A. D. 18.7/, before the City Court, within and for said Gounty, city 794 lash having Common Law jurisdietion, with a Clerk and an Seal, per- L.S. sonally appeared, Edward wanter of of Mangatuez in said County, who was born in England aged about 59 years, and on oath did declare that shet it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria quesn of the United Kingdom 9A-Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, George 6 Tem Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. mili lo Inna bna ,band George Elevery Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Edward Wrinter has resided within the United States five years at least, 10 avil sill avil bine anhub and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. batinU And the said Edward Winter having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria given of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
