    "ocrText": "At a Priferion Court, holden at Litchgield, in and for County of Litchfield,\n508\nthe in the State of\nhundred Connecticut, and on seventy the four Tuesdag of January in the year of our Lord one thousand han eight\nPRESENT-HON miles of Grange Judye\nthe it Remembered, That on\nthe\n16th\nday of march\n,in the\nof /rinchester\nyear of your Lord one thousand eight hundred and\nseventy four Edward Hafle\nin said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person,\nappeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and\na Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a eitizen of the United States. And the said\nEdward taffer then exhibited the Court Certificate of the declaration of intention\nto a\nmade by him\nbefore the clerk for Court\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \"An Actito\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject.\"\nApproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\nbovongqA\nSTATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nCOUNTY OF Lithfield\nss.\ngab\nthe it Remembered, That the\nsilt\nof march on\n9th\nday\nA. D. 185, before the\nvingoO bina bas\nClark afthe Subrison Court, within and for said County,\nn altivi\nhaving Common Law jurisdietion, with a Clerk and a Seal, per-\nL.S.\nsonally\nappeared, Edward tafle\nof Winchester\nin said\nCounty, who was born in\nGermany\nJedt\nmaloab\nno\naged about 28\nyears, and on oath did declare that\nTO\nit was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE\nUNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-\ntate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to\nofth Kingdorg of Great of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-\nof, I, with L Reuson\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nhand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesand bies ed) lo lave bas\nWill Rauson\nClerk.\nAnd it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Celland Hoftle has resided\nwithin the United States five years at least,\nbatinU\nnidzivi\navil\nand in the State of Connectieut one year at least, and that during said five years\nhe has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the\nUnited States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. llow ban\nbatin\n1\nhoq And the said Edward take\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce\nand abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and\nparticularly to this Comfere. no germany of\nthe United Kingdom of\nGreat Britain and Ireland, of whom hé was before a subject.
