30 At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 2 Tuesday of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Simm hundred and fifty Six PRESENT-HON. John D. Park gredef the it Rememberrd, That on the 23 day of dependent in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Pix Deining Murphy of Litchfield in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said Murphy then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before this Court and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actito establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, | ss. COUNTY OF Litclfield the it Rememberrd, That on the 15. day of August A. D. 185 4, before the Superior Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally appeared, L. S. Dening Marphy of Torrington in said County, who was born in Leinerick bo. Ireland aged about 22 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to victoria Incen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, FredkD Buman Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day Bon Frednick D. Beeman Clerk. And to within the United States five years at least, it appearing the satisfaction of the Court, that said sumphy gaimo has resided and in the State of Connectient one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Murkhy having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to bectoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
