39 At a Superion Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, hundred and fifty Jiy on the 2 Tuesday of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight bith PRESENT-HON. John D. Park judge year the of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty say day of September nurence the Devmott in the it Remembered, That on the 25 of New Has find in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a eitizen of the United States. And the said Me Dermote then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before H D Burnan clerk of the County Couct and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actito establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the aets heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Sitchfield ss. tle it Remembered, That on the 31 day of A. D. 1853, before the within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- L.S. sonally appeared, " Larrie lec Dematt of New Hart ford in said County, who was born in Wisteriard Co. Ireland aged about 43 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Then of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, Thank & Bunian Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. Juni Fredweek D. Buman Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said lec Deimatt has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Me Devmott having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and to Vectoria gelew of the United Kingdom of particularly Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that Suid Laurina lec Dermott be, and he accordingly was admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
