Be it Rememberrà, That on the third
day of Celebra in
the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and lifty six Engene Evans
of Winchester
in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person,
appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and
a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said
made by him before the Superier bount in and for
Evens
then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention

and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to
establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject."

years, and on oath did declare that
it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE
UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-
tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to
Vieteria Duen
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-
of, I, Luck h 20. Buman assistant Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my
hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. 10 bas

And it appearing to
the satisfaction of the Court, that said Evens
has resided
within the United States five years at least,

and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years
he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the
United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.

CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce
and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and

Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
It
was
therefore considered by the Court,
that Eugene Evans
be, and he was accordingly admitted
to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
