on the ix At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the Second Tuesday of Sept in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six PRESENT-Hon drin So Pauth Judy e year Be it Remembered, That on the senuteenth day of October in the year red in of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and /ifty six Janus Henry oplied of Anu Martinet in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal, and applied S to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. sh an And at the time of his said application, and of his admission as a citizen of the United States, as hereinafter specified, 802: the said Janus Henry tecus declared on oath, in open Court, that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen it c's of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to tid clel Vietein a the licc - of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland, of whom he has been hitherto a subject. And further declared on oath and proved to the satisfaction of the Court, that for the three years next preceding, it has been bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States. at And it being found by the said Court that the said Janns Henry is a free white male person, of lawful age, that he was born in Great Britain and is ageel now of age my And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Hunry has resided within the United States five years at least, including three years next preceding his arrival at the age of twenty-one years, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. thin And the said Henry having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance he and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to vell Vietnia - Queen the nce of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. was said e a be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
