Be it Remembered, That on the 24th
day of October in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and minity two
Paul Vagniol
of Torringlin
in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and free white person, appeared in
open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied
to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said Paul Vagnial
then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the Declaration of intention made by him before
the Clerkofthe bourt of County
and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to establish an
uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802;
and the nets passed subsequently thereto, to wit:

his name, appeared before the blerk of the bourt of bommon Pleas forthe County of Litchfield
withinstand County and declared on outh the said Court being a Court of Record havin,

intention to become a citizen althr United Statis, and to renounce forever all a allegance
loavy bereign Pervice Potentali State orsovereigntly whatever, ,and particularly to the Prince

And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Paul Vagnist
has resided within
the United States five years at least
and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he
has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well
disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
And the said Paul vagnoil
having declared on oath, that he would support the
and CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance
fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to
The yourments of France
the-United-Kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland, of whom he was before a
subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that said Paul Vagnot
be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
