ss.
Country of Hariford.
Be it Reemembered, That Once Filan
of Hantford
in said County of Hartford, but late of the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. appeared before the
Suparin Court for said County of Harlford, held at Hartford,
in said County, on the Seventh day of February
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine
the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law jurisdiction, and
a Clerk, and Seal, and declared on oath in ofen Court, that it was bona fide
his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all
allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Govereignty
whatever, and particularly to Victoria Queen
of the United Kingdom of great Britain and Ireland.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the Seal of said Superior
Court this Seventh
day of
Fibmary in the year of our Lord,
one thousand eight hundred and forty
