COUNTY OF HARTFORD.

That William B.Smith
of Enfuld
in said County of Hartford, but late of the Wonited
Kengdom of Great Britain and Ireland, appeared before the Superior
Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford, in said County, on the
22 day of February
in
the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and forty four , the said Court being a Court of Record, having
Common Law jurisdiction, and a Clerk, and Leal, and declared on oath in open
Court, that it was bonafide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and
to renownce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Frince, Potentate, State,
or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Queen
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREON I have hereunto set my hand
and affired the Seal of said
Court this
