it That all oved Sterm
of Cartford
in said County of Hartford, but late of the-United-Kingdom of Hesse
in Germany
Britain and Ircland, appeared before the County
Court for said County of Hartford
held at Hartford, in said County, on the Seventh
day of August
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty Eight , the said Court
being a
Court of Record, having common Law jurisdiction, and a Clerk, and Seal, and declared on oath in open
Court, that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce
forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and
paticularly to the Duke of Hesse bassell...
