at Boston, within and for the
Massachusetts District, on the seventeenth
day of December
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fortyseven
Personally appeared before the Clerk of said Court, Antickithannahan
of Laurence
in said District, Stone mason
an Alien and a free white person, and by his Declaration in writing, on oath, set forth, That
he was born at Kilrush in the County of clare in
Ireland
on or about the sindeenth
day
of march
in the year
of our Lord Eighteen
and is now about Twentyfive age, Boston a
hundred and twentyture
years of that he arrived at
in mapachusetts
in the United States of America, on or about the fifteenth
day
of June
in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and
fortyfour
: that it then was, and still is, his bona fide intention to
become a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce forever all allegiance and
fidelity to every foreign Prince, State, Potentate, and Sovereignty whatsoever, more espe-
cially to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, whose subject
he has heretofore been. He therefore prayed, that his said Declaration and intention might
become a record of said Court, agreeably to the laws in such case made and provided.
Whereupon
the Declaration of the said Patrick shannahan
is admitted to become a record of said Court, accordingly.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
the Seal of said Court at Boston, this deventeenth
day of December A. D. 184] in the seventy
second year of the Independence of the United States of
America.
