D. 842\nTHE PETITION OF Eyiah Well\nin the\nCounty of Ameforu irespectfully showeth, that he is a Foreigner, having\nbeen\nborn in I seland\n-A. D. 1384\nThat he is a subject\nGreat of the Lun Buat of the Rutain United VLuuand\nThat he emigrated to the United States A. D. 822\nThat before the beauty Court, held at Hartford, within and for the County of Hartford,\n'on the 16th day of March A. D. 1840 (said Court being a Court of\nrecord,\nhaving Common Law jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) he declared, on oath, his intention to\nbecome a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any\nForeign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the\nLann of the Mintu Kuydom of guard\nButain XLuland\nas by certificate, duly authenticated, ready in Court to be shown appears.\nThat he has resided in the United States three years next preceding his arriving at the age of\ntwenty-one years, which occurred on the\nday of\nA. D. 18\nand has continued to reside therein to thepresent time ; and that for three years next preceding it\nhas been his bona fide intention to become e citizen of the United States.\nThat he has resided during the last five years constantly in the United States, (including the\nthree years of his minority,) and during the last year in the State of Connecticut. That he has\nbehaved during said five years as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of\nthe Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the\nsame. Whereupon he prays your Honor to take his case into consideration, and on finding the\nallegations true, to admit him to be a citizen of the United States, according to the Acts of Con-\ngress in such case provided, as he in duty bound shall pray.\nDated at Hartford, Mark 24 A. D.1842"
