State of Connecticut,
COUNTY OF HARTFORD.
ss.
Be it That John Shining
of Heartford in said County of Hartford, but late of the United
Kengdom of Great Britain and Ireland, appeared before the County
Court for said County of Hariford, held at Hartford, in said County, on the
30 day of march
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ferty three the said Court being a Court of Record, having
Common Law jurisdiction, and a Clerk, and Seal, and declared on cath in open
Court, that it was bonafide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and
to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentato, State
or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Dreen
of the United Kingdom of Preat Britain and Ireland.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand
and afficed the Seal of said County
