To the Hon. Superior Court, now sitting in Hartford, in and for Huriford County, march Term, .A. D. 1842. THE PETITION OF Robert tather of Hairford in the County of Hearford respectfully showeth, that he is a Foreigner, having been born in scolland in the years. D. .1801 united That he is assbect of victoria Kucesa of the Thingdom of quentsprittin Liveland That he emigrated to the United States A. D. 18 27 That before the Sperion Court, held at Hartford, within and for the County of Hartford, on the 13th day of Fecturary D. 1840 (said Court being a Court A. of record, having Common Law jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) he declared, on oath, his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to bictoria "free of the United Teningdone of Great Writian 2greland as by certificate, duly authenticated, ready in Court to be shown appears. That he has resided in the United States three years next preceding his arriving at the age of itwenty-one years, which occurred on the day of A. D. 18 and has continued to reside therein to the present time ; and that for three years next preceding it has been his bona fide intention to become a citizen of the United States. That he has resided during the last five years constantly in the United States, (including the three years of his minority,) and during the last year in the State of Connecticut. That he has behaved during said five years as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Whereupon he prays your Honor to take his case into consideration, and on finding the allegations true, to admit him to be a citizen of the United States, according to the Acts of Con- gress in such case provided, as he in duty bound shall pray.
