September, Term, 18/18. 155 2.1. BE IT That on the fourth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty.eight, ounty Donald Mc Intosh, now of Simsbury, in said County of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris- juris- diction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And And the said Donald Me Intosh, then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the of the Declaration of intention made by him before the County bourt within and for 845, said bounty, on the Twenty seventh day of March, A.D. 184611 and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to ct to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- Ap- proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows+ "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, ss. COUNTY OF HARTFORD, Be IT REMEMBERED, That ritain in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain rd in and Ireland, appeared before the Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in Lord said County, on the day of the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and (the said Court being a Court of Record, was having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was and bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to and. King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. purt, In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court, this our day of in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Clerk." and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Donald Me Intosh, and has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and the that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. bort And the said Donald Mes Intosh, having declared on oath, that he would support the Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi- to ance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that the Donald M. Antosh be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the United States.
