    "ocrText": "245\nAla Superior bound holden at Maryndurchin and for the\nCounty of leantford and State y Comucliant ou the 4th Suneday\nof September d.d. 18.5 Present 3.\nHow. 4pm. yr Ellsworth Indege\nBE IT That on the 29th day of September\nin the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three\nof\nin said County\nty\nof Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris-\nS-\ndiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And\nthen exhibited to the Court a certificate of the\nd\nthe said\nle\nDeclaration of intention made by him before\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \"An Act to\no\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject.\" Ap-\nproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\n\"STATE OF CONNECTICUT,\n}\nss.\nCOUNTY OF HARTFORD,\nBe IT REMEMBERED, That\nin said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain\nn\nand Ireland, appeared before the\nCourt for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in\nn\nday of\nin the year of our Lord\nsaid County, on the\nd\none thousand eight hundred and\n(the said Court being a Court of Record,\nI,\nhaving Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was\nS\nbona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and\nd\nfidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.\nI.\nIn testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said\nCourt,\nin the year of our\nthis\nday of\nLord one thousand eight hundred and\nClerk.\"\nS\nUBAVOPION\nand it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court,\nthat said\nhas resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and\nthat during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the\nConstitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nAnd the said\nthe Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi-\nance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nof whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that\nbe, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the\nUnited States."
