272 faming Ferri 1834 BB IT That on the 11 day of Slecember in in the of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and chlythn Fenderant year Suchell of in said County of of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris- di diction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And th the said Licbell then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the D Declaration of intention made by him before Wasfind County Court clerk on the day of shurch 1857 and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled " An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows : "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, SS. COUNTY OF HARTFORD, Be IT REMEMBERED, That in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain a and Ireland, appeared before the Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in S said County, on the day of in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court, this day of in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Clerk.' and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Sinchell has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Lichell having declared on oath, that he would support the Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi- ance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the imperience of University Kingofthe United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ircland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that Terumand Diebree be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the United States.
