And And the said Echiring tonl then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the the Declaration of intention made by him before Carming and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to et to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- Ap- proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF HARTFORD, ss. Be IT REMEMBERED, That in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain itain and Ireland, appeared before the Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in d in said County on the day of in the year of our Lord ord one thousand eight hundred and (the said Court being a Court of Record, ord, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever /all allegiance and and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. and.
