And\nates. And\nthe said Ahem\nthen exhibited to the Court a certificate of the\nficate of the\nthis\nforth yany and cerently of new yorks with 26th\nDeclaration of intention made by him before thicant of Communications\nof the\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \"An Act to\nAn Act to\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject.\" Ap-\nect.\" Ap-\nproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\n\"STATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nss.\nCOUNTY OF HARTFORD,\nBe IT REMEMBERED, That\nin said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain\neat Britain\nand Ireland, appeared before the\nCourt for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in\n[artford in\nsaid County, on the\nday of\nin the year of our Lord\nour Lord\none thousand eight hundred and\n(the said Court being a Court of Record,\nf Record,\nhaving Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was\nhat it was\nbona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and\nance and\nfidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.\nd Ireland.\nIn testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said\nCourt,\nCourt,\nthis\nday of\n3\nin the year of our\near of our\nLord one thousand eight hundred and\nClerk.\"\nClerk.\"\nand it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court,\nthat said Ahem\nhas resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and\nest, and\nthat during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the\nes of the\nConstitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nAnd the said Ahem\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nsupport\nthe Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi-\n1 allegi-\nance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nlarly to\ntho Dueen\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nIreland,\nof whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that\nNawhew Ahem\nbe, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the\nn of the\nUnited States."
