458 BE That on the Desh day of October 181 180. IT in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty ers in th feelius recaporittes of Hartford in said County of of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris- dicti diction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And the the said responstter then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the Declaration of intention made by him before chocleskey Hoasford county Dec Courton 23 and and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled " An Act to estal establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- prov proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: "ST "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, SS. COUNTY OF HARTFORD, B: Be IT REMEMBERED, That in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and and Ireland, appeared before the Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in said said County, on the day of in the year of our Lord one one thousand eight hundred and (the said Court being a Court of Record, havii having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was bona bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidel fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court, this this day of in the year of our Loro Lord one thousand eight hundred and Clerk." and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, and that said has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and has that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the that Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Con And the said having declared on oath, that he would support And the Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi- the ance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to ance the Republic King of the United Kingdom of Groat Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
