BI BE IT on That the seeh day of October in the in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty see John gevenson of securfford in said County of Har of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris- diction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And the the said Govenson then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the Declaration of intention made by him before the court of Common pleas for chacity on che 14ch of April 1831, and rec and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled " An Act to establis establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- proved proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: "STA "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, SS. COUNTY OF HARTFORD, Be Be IT REMEMBERED, That in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and and Ireland, appeared before the Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in said said County, on the day of in the year of our Lord one one thousand eight hundred and (the said Court being a Court of Record, having having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was bona bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In te In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court, this this day of in the year of our Lord o Lord one thousand eight hundred and Clerk." and and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Governor has res has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and that du that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Consti Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Governon And th having declared on oath, that he would support the Co the Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi- ance ance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the Meny if King of the Kingdom United of Great Britain and Ireland, of wh of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that yohns be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the United States. United
