532 BE IT REMEMBERED3 That on the day of October 235 254 in the in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and melann of infells in said County of of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris- dictio diction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And the sa the said melann then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the Decla Declaration of intention made by him before count inche sochday formanch AD1884 and re and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled " An Act to establ establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- prove proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: "STA "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, ss. COUNTY OF HARTFORD, Be Be IT REMEMBERED, That in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and I: and Ireland, appeared before the Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in said said County, on the day of in the year of our Lord one th one thousand eight hundred and (the said Court being a Court of Record, having having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was bona bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelit fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovergignty whatever, and particularly to King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In t In testimony whergof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court, this this day of in the year of our Lord Lord one thousand eight hundred and Clerk." and it and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said l Neclanm has re has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and that d that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Const Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Mc learn And t having declared on oath, that he would support the C the Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi- ance ance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the Deven, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of wh of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the Unite United States.
