M Wait ladge BE IT REMEMBERED That on the of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty there in Vames Stevend of Enfirle in said County of of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris- dic diction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And the the said Names bleoeus then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the De count of Hartford on the day of April 1841 Declaration of intention made by him before the county count for go and and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled " An Act to esta establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- pro proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: "ST "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, ss. COUNTY OF HARTFORD, Be IT REMEMBERED, That James. supens of Enfulu B in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and and Ireland, appeared before the County Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in said said County, on the / day of Afric in the year of our Lord one one thousand eight hundred and 41 (the said Court being a Court of Record, havir having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was bona bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fideli fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Mictoria 2 eeen King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court, day of April this this in the year of our Lord Lord one thousand eight hundred and Names H Holeome Clerk." and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, and it that said Sames Sleocus has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and has re that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the that d Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
