M Wait ladge\nBE IT REMEMBERED That on the\nof September\nin the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty there\nin\nVames Stevend\nof Enfirle\nin said County\nof\nof Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris-\ndic\ndiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And\nthe\nthe\nsaid Names bleoeus\nthen exhibited to the Court a certificate of the\nDe\ncount of Hartford on the day of April 1841\nDeclaration of intention made by him before the county count for go\nand\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \" An Act to\nesta\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject.\" Ap-\npro\nproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\n\"ST\n\"STATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nss.\nCOUNTY OF HARTFORD,\nBe IT REMEMBERED, That James. supens of Enfulu\nB\nin said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain\nand\nand Ireland, appeared before the County\nCourt for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in\nsaid\nsaid County, on the\n/\nday of Afric\nin the year of our Lord\none\none thousand eight hundred and 41\n(the said Court being a Court of Record,\nhavir\nhaving Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was\nbona\nbona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and\nfideli\nfidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nMictoria 2 eeen\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.\nIn\nIn testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said\nCourt,\nday of April\nthis\nthis\nin the year of our\nLord\nLord one thousand eight hundred and\nNames H Holeome\nClerk.\"\nand it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court,\nand it\nthat said Sames Sleocus\nhas resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and\nhas re\nthat during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the\nthat d\nConstitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nConst\nAnd the said A\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nAnd tl\nthe Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi-\nthe Co\nance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nance\nVictoria Queen\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nof whom he was before a subject.
