    "ocrText": "355\nBe it Remembered, That on the\nInd\nday of april\nin the year Lord thousand eight hundred fifty one\nof our one and\nof\nsames obighway, of Simsbury\nin said County of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common\nLaw Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States.\nAnd the said James Highway\nthen exhibited to the Court a certifi-\ncate of the Declaration of intention made by him before the bourt for\nsaid bounty on the Ind day November a.D.1848,\nas on file, and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \" An\nAct to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject.\"\nApproved, 14th of April, 1802.\nAnd it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the said James Highway\nhas resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and\nthat during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the\nConstitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nAnd the said sames Highway\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and\nabjure all allegiance and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty, whatever, and\nparticularly to Vectoria, Queen of The United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland\nof whom he was before a subject. It was, therefore, considered by the Court, that\nme\ndames Highway\nbe, and he was accordingly admitted to become\na Citizen of the UNITED STATES."
