445 Be it Remembered, That on the 31st day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 52 John m Goodwin of Hartford" in said County of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said John Me Goodwin then exhibited to the Court a certifi- cate of the Declaration of intention made by him before the Superier Courtforthi city of new york in new york State on the 22d day of October as. 1819. An as on file, and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled " An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved, 14th of April, 1802. And the Court that the said m Goodwin it appearing to the satisfaction of nd has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and he that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. ort And the said m Goodwin having declared on oath, that he would support nd the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and nd abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty, whatever, and particularly to the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland of whom he was before a subject. It was, therefore, considered by the Court, that said me John me Goodwin be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES. n
