within and for said City, having Common Law jurisdiction,
with a Clerk and a Seal, personally appeared,
John freed
of
Nangatueta
who was born in Sweder aged about 42
years, and on oath did declare that it was BONA FIDE his inten-
tion to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES,
and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and
Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Brit-
ain and Ireland, to William I. Emperor of Germany

of whom he is now a subject.
