    "ocrText": "A\n361\nanited States of America, State of Connectiont, 55.\nDistrict\nDistruct\nAta City Court, holden in and for the City of Waterbury, on the first Monday\nof September\nA. D. 188\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the\n17\nday of celobu in said year,\nJoseph sejuity\nof Watulouri\nin the County of Lilelefield\nappeared before said Court, the same being a Court of\nRecord, with common Law Judisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made application to the said Court,\nto become a citizen of the United States: And upon examination first had, it being made to ap-\npear, and this Court having found to their satisfaction, that the said applicant is a free, white male\nperson of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland, of William I. Emperor of Germany\nthat now of the of that he was born in\nhe is age 21 years; England\nin\nsaid Kingdom ; that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last\npast, and in said State of Connecticut and within the Jurisdiction of this Court for more than one\nyear last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good\nmoral character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and\nwell disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. It also appearing to this Court,\nthat\nsaid\napplicant arrived in the United States of America before attaining to the age of eighteen\nyears, and that he has continned to reside therein thence hitherto-and he now here on oath de-\nclares that for three years last past, it has been and now is BONA FIDE his intention to become a\ncitizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to\nevery Foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nVictoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, William I. Emperor of\nGermany\nAnd the said applicant now here in this Court, declares on oath, that he doth absolutely and\nentirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate,\nState and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom\nof Great Britain and Ireland, Willinm I. Emperor of Germany\nof whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on oath, that he will support the Constitution of\nthe United States of America.\nWherefore. the said applicant is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared to be a citizen\nof the United States of America.\nstrilution\nClerk."
