now resident at Wooddlack

said County, respectfully represents, that he was born in the County of Denvy
in the United Kingdom of Great
Britain and Ireland,
on or about the 15th day of Movember A. D., 1837
and is now about 211 years of age ; and that he arrived at Hew york
on or about the 30th day of December
A. D., 1853 that it was then and still is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the
United States of America, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince,
Putentate, State and Sovereignty, whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the Uni-
ted Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,
whose subject he has heretofore been ; all of which appears
on the record of the honorable

a certified copy of which record is herewith exhibited.

further represents, that he has ever since
continued within the jurisdiction of the United States ; that he hath never borne any heredi-
tory title, or been of any of the orders of nobility ; that he is ready to renounce and abjure
all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever,
and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
whose subject he has heretofore been ; that he is attached to the principles of the Constitu-
tion of the United States of America, and well disposed to the good order and happiness
of the same.
Whereupon he prays that he may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States
of America, according to the forms of the Statute in such cases made and provided. And
as in duty bound will ever pray.
