.o the fjon. Superior Court, holden at Brooklyn, in and for the County of Windbam, Nohre dmith now resident at Humleter in said County, respectfully represents that he was born in the town of Assay beunty of bank in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, on or about the day of A. D., 182/ and is now about 45 years of age ; and that he arrived at New Yeart on or about the 19 day of March A. D., 1852 that it was then and still is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty, whatever, and partic- ularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, whose subject he has heretofore been ; all of which appears on the record of the honorable tureut Court, holden at on the district of Rhade Estaul in and for the Gounty of toich which declaration was made below of sand bourt on the got day of March GD, 1855 Tuesday of A.D. a certified copy of which record is herewith exhibited. And the said John Smith further represents, that he has ever since continued within the jurisdiction of the United States ; that he hath never borne any hereditory title, or been of any of the orders of nobility ; that he is ready to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. whose subject he has heretofore been ; that he is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States of America, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Whereupon he prays that he may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States of America, according to the forms of the Statute in such cases made and provided. And as in duty bound will ever pray. Dated at mooklyn this 17th day of defender A. D. 1866 Bohn Smith I do solemnly swear that I will support the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES, and that I hereby re- nounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentetate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, particularly to Victoria Queen, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. So help me God.
