Superior Tourt, holden at Brooklyn, in and for the County of Windham, Jusefh Burrows now resident at Woodstock in said County, respectfully represents that he was born in Canaela in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, on or about the 1° day of may A. D., and is now about 36 years of age; and that he arrived at spenn 5 cab of moss any on or about the to 12 which amine day 2 of muy F A. D., 839 that it was then and still is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States OL demerica, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty, whatever, and partic- ularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, whose subject he has heretofore been ; all of which appears on the record of the honorable Court, holdon at infand for the states while hewad a nener under thisage of eightests County of on the that he came to they Unifeed years Tuesday of A.D. -a-certified copy of which record is herewith exhibited And the said Joseph Burrows further represents, that he has ever since continued within the jurisdiction of the United States ; that he hath never borne any hereditory title, or been of any of the orders of nobility ; that he is ready to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Vietoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland whose subject he has heretofore been ; that he is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States of America, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Whereupon he prays that he may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States of America, according to the forms of the Statute in such cases made and provided. And as in duty bound will ever pray. Dated at this 27th day of leugust A. D. 1507 I areth Burrows I do solemnly swear that I will support the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES, and that I hereby re- nounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, particularly to Victoria Queen, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. So help me God.
