To the Honorable Camby Brooklyn, in and for County of the Court Windham, John Allcock holden at now resident at Planfield in said County, respectfully represents, that he was born in England in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, on or about the day of A.D. 1854 and is now about 41 years of age ; and that he arrived at newyork on or about the 5 day of Lebs A. D. 1836 that it then was and still is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty, whatever, and particularly to Vic- toria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, whose subject he has heretofore been ; all of which appears on the record of the honorable Dubint bonly Court, holden-at for the in and for the County of antho holder who 23 day of Tuceday of A.D. a certified copy of which record is herewith exhibited. And the said John alleride further represents, that he has ever since continued within the jurisdiction of the United States ; that he hath never borne any hereditary title, or been of any of the orders of nobility ; that he is ready to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, jose subject he has heretofore been ; that he is attached to the principles of the astitution of the United States of America, and well disposed towards the good forder and happiness of the same. Whereupon he prays that he may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States of America, according to the forms of the statute in such cases made and pro- vided. And as in duty bound will ever pray. Dated at Brooklyn this/2 day of Marel A. D. 1858 Anne his the Maya John must I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and that I hereby renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Soveriegnty whatever, particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
