MINOR'S APPLICATION, To the Auperior Cauti, Now in session at Brooklyn, in and for the County of Windham. freher H. Bedfeed now resident at beautifuling in said County, respectfully represents that he was born in Herksheri in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, on or about the 3d day of august A: D. 1846, and is now about 37 years of age; and that he arrived at New York on or about the 10th day of September A. D. 1858, being then a minor under the age of eighteen years ; that it was then, ever since has been, and still is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ire- land, whose subject he has heretofore been. And the said Golden 16 Bulfered further represents, that he has ever since continued within the jurisdiction of the/United States ; that he has never borne any hereditary title, or been of any of the orders of nobility ; that he is ready to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to ev- ery foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United King- dom of Great Britain and Ireland, 1. whose subject he has heretofore been that he is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States of America, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. WHEREUPON, he prays that he may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States of America, according to the forms of the Statute in such case made and provided. And as in duty bound will ever pray. Dated at Breskle this 15 day of Nevember A. D. 18 83. John Ib Bedford I do solemnly swear that I will support the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES, and that I hereby re- nounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, particu- larly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
